CHILD RESILIENCE AND PROTECTION PROJECT

Objective 

Strengthen the capacity of the education and child protection systems to address and respond to the needs of children and adolescents resulting from natural disasters and external shocks 

Beneficiaries 
  • Sint Maarten’s children, teachers, and parents 
  • Residents suffering from post-hurricane distress symptoms referred to adequate services 
Approach
Develop DEVELOP a child protection information system and mainstream in emergencies
STRENGTHEN STRENGTHEN the resilience of schools and Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sports to disasters
DESIGN DESIGN a school-based screening tool to detect emotional issues
IMPLEMENT IMPLEMENT a psychosocial program for students and their caregivers
train image TRAIN professionals to implement a positive parenting support program
